Harley-Davidson established the Harley Owners Group in 1983 in response to a growing desire by Harley riders for an organized way to share their passion and show their pride. By 1985, 49 local chapters had sprouted around the United States, with a total membership of 60,000.Today, over 1,000,000 members make H.O.G. The largest factory-sponsored motorcycle organization in the world.

The Auckland Chapter of HOG was formed in 1990 and now has a membership of around 250. The Auckland Chapter holds regular monthly meetings along with monthly rides and informal Saturday rides most Saturdays. What does the future hold? No one can say for sure, but from here the road ahead looks long, wide open, winding, and scenic - with lots of new friends to make along the way.

Whangamata Beach Hop parade on Saturday 27th March 2010
  • Bikes can register on the day at the Surf Club for $10.This gives a programme and entry into the draw for either a Harley, station wagon, or Hot Rod.
  • Special positioning in the parade to avoid overheating
  • Reserved parking in the middle of town, exclusively for bikes
  • A special trophy valued at $500 for "Best Bike" (equal to the car trophy).

I know a couple of the members have been asking me about sidecars, this is a very cheap one (worth about three grand) and can be fitted to any harley

     Come along to the Manukau Cruising Club for a meal and get together from 6.30pm. Meeting starts 8pm
  • Saturday Rides most Saturdays departing AMPS 1.45pm. New members meet for briefing at 1pm.
