Good News, the Government have just announced a move to Level 2 for Auckland effective 11.59 pm Wednesday 23rd Sept, this means we are able to get together again on Monday 28th September for our Chapter night, albeit with a limit of 100, we will work out a registration process in the next couple of days. This will be a great opportunity for us, as we are going to have one of the new Livewire bikes on display and Ray and his team will be giving us a rundown on the features of this new concept in riding. It will be great to finally see the machine up close and personal.
Looking ahead it will be good to be able to gather in larger numbers for rides and of course our planned Labour weekend trip to Whakatane, it sure doesn't seem like two years since we were last down there having fun. As we head into summer we have a number of our usual pre-Christmas events happening, such as the bottle auction, and our Christmas Chapter night, always fun.
Make sure you come on down to Auckland Harley Mt Wellington on Saturday the 3rd October for a free WOF pre-check specifically for those of us that took advantage of the relaxed Warrant requirements from our first lockdown, come along, check out all the bikes, have a sausage with funds raised going to Muscular Dystrophy Northern, starting from 9.00 am.
While this year has been different to say the least, we have been able to maintain a little bit of normality with our small group rides and utilising our Facebook page to keep in touch with each other, I have enjoyed being able to keep up with all of the exploits of our team.
Don't forget to check out the range of Mothers products now in-store, any excuse to give the bike a bit of a spruce up, Auckland Harley Davidson is now the national distributors for these cleaning, polishing and protecting commodities. If you get a chance ask Ray to tell you how good the clay bar works!

Hi all. October 3rd there will be a fundraising event at AMPS. Sausage sizzle along with a free safety check from the HD techs to get ready for summer. There will also be a Livewire on display in the photo booth where you can pose for a photo with the new technology. If anyone is willing to give us a hand to help at the BBQ, please let me know.

Saturday HOG Ride, had ten bikes leave NAHD, heading up SH1 and off at Oteha Valley Rd, where the ride went "askew" with three riders pulling over for...gas. As I was TEC, I carried on thinking "yeh you guys stuffed up, fines coming on next Chapter night"..umm so I carried on. After passing old Albany, the ride turned left into Paremoremo Rd,(the Avenue), where, I didn't mark the corner. Carrying on, I got the guilts and went back to mark the corner. Shortly after our three, gassed up mates arrived. The four of us carried on but it soon became evident that corners were not being marked, so after coming out of Ridge Rd and onto Riverhead-Coatsville highway, we had lost the front of the pack, so we carried on, on an assumed route. Travelling along Old Nth Rd, two bikes appeared in my mirror (who wondered how we got in front of them because apparently they had marked corners). Exciting stuff eh, lol, so we continued travelling on and down Peakes Rd, then up SH16 where we turned into Woodcocks Rd, but after 10 minutes of waiting at a stop n go, we did a u-turn, went back down SH16 to Kahikatea Rd, up Dairy Flat, crossed over to East Coast Bays Rd and stopped at our new destination of the Clyde in Browns Bay, only to have the leading pack pull in behind us as we were dismounting our iron horses. We all had a laugh and a chuckle, all started saying what went wrong, whose fault it was, blah blah blah, only for me to finally come to the conclusion, that it was my fault for not alerting the RC of the three riders who had stopped for gas, which was also not entirely their fault either because one bike had a faulty gas gauge reading, one had no gas because the loan bike from our dealer, had no gas when rider obtained said bike, who was also a "guest mum" on the ride and the other rider, well, he wasn't even coming on the ride. All fun n games, we had had an awesome ride and a great chin wag over some well appreciated chilled refreshments. Thanks to the "four" Road Captains and the "three" Tail End Charlies. Fines galore for the Sheriff.
